Founded By Musicians. Built For Musicians. Giving Side Quests To Fans 👀

A Message From Motus

We're building Motus because nobody else is — at least not the way we believe it should be built. The events and ticketing platforms we're forced to use don't put artists or fans first. They're built to extract.

We're building one that's built to move.

Every person on this team chose to be here because they love live music — not because they wanted a paycheck. We're musicians, promoters, agents, organizers, and operators. We've been on every side of the stage. We know where the money leaks. We know where the trust breaks. And we know what it feels like when a room of strangers becomes a room of believers because of one good song.

That's what we're building toward. Every day.

Jamey McLaren

Singer-Songwriter · Storyteller · Events Lead

Jamey McLaren

Motus Events Team Lead

I’m a classically trained singer-songwriter who studied music at Millikin University. My passion for jazz, soul, blues, and classical music comes from a deep love of storytelling and emotional connection through sound. I use my voice and my art to give back — performing for nonprofits and causes close to my heart, including Blues in the Pews, Magical Keys, and other community events that bring people together through the healing power of music.

Roles · Focuses

  • Leads the Motus Events Team — the people making each Motus Moment land right.
  • Curates the live music calendar: open mics, up-and-coming artists, bands, fundraisers, conferences, community townhalls.
  • Builds the bridge between Motus and the nonprofits, causes, and community partners we show up for.
  • Holds the room — production, hosts, hospitality, sound, story — so the moment is the moment.
  • Performs and contributes original music to Motus events when the room calls for it.

Jay Dhillion

Strategic Partnerships Lead

The bridge between Motus and the partners that matter — venues, brands, civic, and capital.

Jay holds the long view on partnerships that compound over years, not quarters.

Tracy Baker

Artist Relationships

The face that artists trust on sight. Tracy holds the line between the platform and the people who make the music.

If an artist has a question, a need, or a worry — Tracy is the answer.

The Vibe Guide

Motus Events Community Manager

Hold the room while we build it.

The Vibe Guide is the heartbeat of the Motus community. Every Telegram message, every Discord ping, every artist asking how to get on a stage — they land with you first.

You greet new members. You spot the conflicts before they escalate. You catch the shy artist who doesn't know they're allowed to apply. You make Motus feel like a place, not an app.

  • Naturally warm voice — kind, direct, unflappable
  • Comfortable on Telegram, Discord, IG DMs, email, in person
  • Loves live music, opens mics, and the people who show up to them
